Fun: A Cat Named Cassius Clay

In the 1980's the cat in my life was named Cassius Clay, but mostly I referred to him as "Cash."

Cassius gave me a lot of companionship, and a wealth of memories to share...

FYI: Genealogy and Historical Context

My mother was born in 1925. On the back cover of her memoir she points out that this was only 6 years after women were given the right to vote. That gave me a first glimpse that history is not so ancient, after all.

 I had thought that genealogy was the dry presentation of names and dates: born, married, died, etc.

As I investigated my own genealogy, I discovered much more information was available.

"Washing Dishes" - A perspective

From time to time I will refer to something as "washing dishes" as a segue to talking about something that is commonplace and expected for/by/about adults.

I was divorced in my late 20's, and I was a new to that experience. It turns out that a lot of other people were divorcing in the late 1970's, too.

This was long before the Internet and on-line dating sites...

I found a book through the Safety Harbor library titled "How to Self-Publish Your Book The CreateSpace Way," (2012-2013 edition) by Blake Webster & Steve Boga.

I needed somewhere to save my notes, so I'll do that here and add a review for you:

Personal Reflections from 2017

I've gained 30 pounds in those 17 months. At that time in 2015, I weighed 289 lbs. Today my weight is 318.

• I gained 10 pounds by Thanksgiving, 2015 - 3 months.
• I gained another 10 pounds in the next 6 month, by May, 2016.
• My 3rd 10-pound gain took only 4 months - September 2016.
• In the last 3 months I'm been floating above 310 and flirting with 320.

Obviously, something is not going well.

Lonesome? Lonely?

The most difficult time for me is after I turn out the lights and before I fall asleep. That's when the brain starts to go full speed.

The earlier I go to bed, and the less tired I am, the more active my thoughts become!

Wikipedia says a "perfect storm" is an expression that describes an event where a rare combination of circumstances will aggravate a situation drastically.

Now, at age 68, I begin to search for my fortune. Again:
