I Got Married!

March 15, 2025 ~ Clearwater FL.

Richard Jaggers & Judy George (Cameron)

Judy & Rick Jaggers

__Anniversaries__

These are the significant dates that led up to that delightful occasion!

  • July 22, 2023 - "Meet Day"
Judy and I first met at Carabbas in Clearwater. This was a Meetup dinner. I was the host and organizer, and this was her first time attending a group function with the group.

  • August 25, 2023 - "Date Day"
We had our first date at Clear Sky restaurant, in Clearwater Beach. Later, we walked to the beach to watch our first sunset together.

  • May 11, 2024 - "Yes Day"
I proposed, and she said, "Yes!" (No, I did not romantically drop to a knee. It was more of an after-dinner discussion.)

  • June 28, 2024 - "Moving Day"
This was the day Judy's two cats (Sammy & Teddy) moved from her old townhouse. We also brought her clothes and furniture on that day.

  • March 15, 2025 - "Wedding Day"
This is the one anniversary I cannot forget. The other dates are only excuses to celebrate milestones in our relationship.

Fun: Rick's Virtual Party

Zoom?!
Virtual Party Ideas from Rick

In this time of coronavirus quarantine I really miss socializing with my friends! In earlier times I would spend several evenings a month at dinners arranged through meetup. My technical meetup groups have moved online, but the social meetups have been abandoned.

I've been spending a lot of time hosting Zoom meetings; I teach people how to use Zoom for meetings and one-and-one coaching/training/mentoring.

People don't meet for dinner for the food. People don't go to bars for the alcohol. They go for the social interaction.

So, how do we party on Zoom....?

Great Chili Recipe!

Rick's Tasty Chili Recipe

Well, it's not actually a step-by-step recipe as much as it is my shopping list for my annual pot of Chili!

I'm sharing my list, and only a few instructions.

FUN: OMG ~ Generational Cohorts !!??

Background: I was looking on Google for names of the different generations; specifically I was trying to name/identify people born before 1980. I quickly found that information.

In a nutshell, the Baby Boomer generation is generally considered to be people born 1946-1964. People born in the 15 years between 1965 and 1979 are identified as either Gen X (or Baby Bust).

But....

Fun: Cassius the Cat stories ~ Kitty Litter

Cassius (AKA "Cash") was a good companion for me.

I was divorced in the 1978, and was pretty much living alone.

These are stories about Cassius in my life.

Fun: A Cat Named Cassius Clay

In the 1980's the cat in my life was named Cassius Clay, but mostly I referred to him as "Cash."

Cassius gave me a lot of companionship, and a wealth of memories to share...

Fun: The Traveling Ice Scraper

Anyone who has lived where frost routinely covers windshields quickly invests in a sturdy ice scraper.

When I lived in Atlanta during the 1990s, I purchased a plastic scraper that had a blue handle and a thick clear blade. There's something reassuring about having the right tool for the job.

🌝 The story begins when I moved from Atlanta to Key West in 2002...

Fun: My Tricked-out Walker, From 40 years ago

When I was in my twenties, age 30 was considered "over the hill." So, if this was going to happen to me, I planned how I could go over the hill in style:
